Our team head to Edinburgh for UK Kidney Week – Kidney Research UK

Miranda Scanlon our lay advisory group lead commented: “As a patient, it was a joy to attend UK Kidney Week and to see the phenomenal amount of work and dedication by clinicians and researchers directed towards making life better for people at risk of or affected by kidney disease. I was also able to see how important the funding provided by Kidney Research UK is to this work. The charity funds a huge range of current projects but has also supported researchers early on in their kidney research journey, enabling them now to lead on major projects as experienced researchers. Our presence at UK Kidney Week, organising sessions and being available on our stand helped us reach even more kidney health professionals, and to share our research and policy outputs.”

Over the three days, we attended lots of exciting sessions and were proud to see so much Kidney Research UK work presented.

Our CEO, Sandra Currie, and Director of Programmes, Tracey Murray, had the opportunity to speak about the need to transform patient pathways in chronic kidney disease (CKD) with reference to our health inequalities report and highlighting our opportunities and challenges for the future.
