The National Kidney Foundation is offering a POCUS precourse at the Spring Clinical Meetings in Long Beach, California in May 2024. This full-day course is designed for POCUS enthusiasts who are eager to embark on their POCUS journey and are seeking a solid understanding of core concepts, as well as supervised hands-on training to learn the correct technique. The faculty includes myself, along with well-known nephrology POCUS educators such as Nathaniel Reisinger and Eduardo Argaiz. Additionally, we will be joined by local faculty from UCLA representing various specialties with extensive expertise in teaching POCUS. The instructor-to-learner ratio is excellent. This course covers kidney ultrasound, lung ultrasound, and focused cardiac ultrasound (FoCUS) including IVC. As FoCUS requires more practice to master the correct technique, a significant proportion of time is dedicated to this sonographic application.
