National Specialty Advisor for Diabetes to step down – The Diabetes Times

NHS England’s National Specialty Advisor for Diabetes Professor Partha Kar is stepping down after eight years “shaping policy” in the role.

Starting the position in 2014, Professor Kar has been involved in some of the biggest diabetes transformations in the NHS.

On Twitter, Professor Kar said: “FINALLY time to end the role in diabetes policy-shaping. What a ride. Worry NOT type 1 diabetes peeps, I stay as Type 1 Diabetes Tech Lead, got closed loops to do.”

Professor Kar is now encouraging his fellow healthcare professionals to apply for the role.
