Glasgow goes purple for kidney disease – Kidney Research UK

Walking all over kidney disease

An estimated 607,000 people are living with kidney disease in Scotland, 45% of whom are living with the most severe stages. There is no cure and treatments for later stage kidney disease can be a gruelling burden on patients. Our research is looking to transform treatments to make them more accessible and kinder for future generations.

Brogan Ritchie, community and events manager at Kidney Research UK said: “Nothing could be better than seeing a sea of people in purple Kidney Research UK t-shirts take to the bridges of Glasgow in support of people with kidney disease. This year’s walk was bigger and better than ever, and we are so proud of the efforts that all of our participants made this year. Their efforts will help us to fund vital research into beating this horrible disease, transform treatments and ultimately save lives.”
